Let's give a warm welcome to fellow author Margaret Tanner who shares with us her novel:
HAUNTED HEARTS
Haunted by
the death of her soldier husband in Afghanistan and the malice of her
in-laws, Abby Palmer is on the run with her baby. She doesn’t believe in
happily ever-afters.
Ethan
Alexander’s fiancée defrauded him out of millions then dumped him. He is in no
mood to be kind to anyone.
He meets up
with Abby and against his better judgement helps her.
Will the
cynical tycoon and the young war widow let their wounded hearts stand in the
way of future happiness?
EXCERPT:
Guilt and fear
kept Abby awake that night. Was Bob a deviate, or was he snooping around in her
drawer to see what he could find? What would happen if the Palmers found out
what she planned? Would they report her to the police for theft? How they would
love to do that. It would be a way to get rid of her. Having her declared a
thief, would strengthen their claim to Rosie. Her mouth went dry and she had
trouble swallowing. What if the airline sold her ticket to someone else?
Her tension must
have transmitted itself to Rosie because she woke up twice to be fed and in the
end, out of sheer desperation, Abby took her into bed with her. As she patted
the baby’s soft, warm cheek, she tried not to dwell on what would become of
them once they made it to Australia.
Get out of England first,
she scolded herself. Worry about Australia when you get there.
Nothing that happened to you in Australia
could be as bad as living here with a deviate like Bob prowling around.
The Palmers were
desperate to get Rosie, yet they didn’t show her any real affection, such was
the type of people they were. Wanted everyone to think they were doting
grandparents, but were they? Did they want Rosie because she was a sweet baby,
or was it because she was all they had left of Robbie? And what about Bob going
through her panty drawer? What if he turned his twisted fetish on to Rosie? She
couldn’t take the risk. They had to get out and fast.
MARGARET TANNER BIO
Margaret
Tanner is a multi-published Australian author. She loves delving into the pages
of history as she carries out research for her historical romance novels, and
prides herself on being historically accurate. No book is too old or tattered
for her to trawl through, no museum too dusty, or cemetery too overgrown. Many
of her novels have been inspired by true events, with one being written around
the hardships and triumphs of her pioneering ancestors in frontier Australia.
As part
of her research she has visited the World War 1 battlefields in France and Belgium, a truly poignant
experience.
She won the 2007 and 2009 Author of the
Year at AussieAuthors.com. A Rose In-No-Man’s Land won an un-published
manuscript award. Her novel Frontier Wife won the Best Historical Romance Novel
at the 2010 Readers Favorite Award, and another novel, Wild Oats was a 2011
Finalist in the EPIC awards.
In 2012, an unpublished manuscript was
short listed in English publisher, ChocLit’s, Find an Australian Star,
competition.
Margaret is married with three grown up
sons, and two gorgeous little granddaughters.
Outside of her family and friends, writing
is her passion.

Love the premise of the cynical tycoon-- congrats! Have adored Australian authors since back around 1980 with vintage romance author Dorothy Cork. Your book sounds wonderful. http://flossiebentonrogers.com
