Seagull in flight. - Reflection - from Inspiration:

             SELF- PORTRAIT

I am the seagull

  whose wings have been broken.

I am the frail leaf

 snatched by the gust.

I am the hour

  that’s already wasted,

I am a dream

  that belongs to the past.

I am the foreseer

  that people mock at,

Or the guitar

Imagini pentru broken guitar images  that has no more strings,
I’m the dried well

        that won’t quench the thirst,
I am the jester

  scorned by the kings.

I’m not the bright rainbow

  that shines after storms,

Or the swift eagle

  high up in the sky.

I'm not the oak tree

                                            defying the time.

                                             I am just a drifter

                                              reluctant to die !

And here is the Romanian version of my same poem:

             AUTOPORTRET

Sunt pescarusul cu-aripile frante

Sunt frunza frageda smulsa de vant

Sunt ora care-i deja irosita

Sunt doar un vis ce-a ramas in trecut.

Sunt clarvazatorul de care toti rad

Sau chitara lipsita de strune

Sunt o fantana secata de mult

Sunt clovnul trist care nu stie glume.

Nu-s curcubeul sclipind dupa ploaie,

Condorul care se-avanta spre cer

Nu sunt stejarul sfidand cursul vremii

Ci un hoinar nevrand inca sa pier.

AUTUMN SPLEEN

The smoky autumn air
sneaks into my heart,

Veiled in thick, gray layers
of ominous rain.

Mourning for the summer,
that abandoned us,

I still look for sunshine,
but, I look in vain!

Gone is now the wealth
of brilliant flowers,

Greeting me at sunrise
with dew moistened eyes.

Only gold and rust
colored, fallen leaves

Muffle my lost footsteps
and disheartened cries!

Glowworms and grasshoppers
have already left.

Empty, desolated
are the swallows’ nests.

Spiders span the branches
with gossamer thread,

Draping the whole garden
for the winter rest.

AUTUMN AGAIN

Autumn has turned up

  on my doorstep.

          Again !

Drenched, tempestuous, frowned.

  Rusted leaves are coiled

in her dripping hair,

  a gray, foggy cape

wrapping her to the ground.

  She pierces my soul with

cold, distant eyes.

  Her breath smells of

rottenness and rain.

  Dejected I bend my head,

       then I sigh.

My hopes she forgot

where I lived were in vain.
